1. Quick summary
- Lexbell does not collect personal information on our servers.
- All information about your cases, contacts, notes, calendar and documents lives exclusively on your device.
- Lexbell does not track your activity or share data with third parties.
- Lexbell does not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Sentry, Firebase or any telemetry service.
2. Information the App handles
Lexbell stores locally on your device the following information you enter yourself:
- Contacts: name, ID number, phone, email, address, notes.
- Cases: case data depending on its type (judicial, administrative, immigration, business, rental, real estate sale).
- Calendar: hearings, deadlines, tasks and meetings you schedule.
- Notes: notes attached to cases.
- Documents: files you attach to each case (copied to your device).
All this information is stored in the App's private data container on your device (on macOS, ~/Library/Containers/com.eduardoespinal.lexbell/; on Windows, the application data folder) and never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.
3. System permissions Lexbell requests
| Permission | Used for |
|---|---|
| User-selected folders | Let you choose a folder where the App writes automatic backups. |
| Notifications | Alert you when hearings or deadlines are approaching. |
All permissions can be revoked from your operating system's privacy settings.
4. Internet connections
Lexbell works offline for all its case-management features. The only exception is the subscription (activating or restoring it), which is handled through Apple's App Store and requires a connection.
Lexbell does NOT communicate with our servers, does NOT upload your data to any cloud, and does NOT download additional code. During the subscription process, the App Store handles billing; we do not receive or process your payment data.
5. Sharing information with third parties
Lexbell does not share any of your information with third parties. We do not sell data. We have no advertising partners. We embed no analytics.
6. Data export and import
The App lets you:
- Export a backup in JSON format to a location you choose on your device.
- Import a previous backup, restoring your data.
- Delete all local information at any time from Settings or by uninstalling the App.
7. Security
Your data lives in the App's private container on your device, protected by your system's native security measures. To add protection, we recommend:
- Keeping your device up to date
- Enabling full-disk encryption (FileVault on Mac, BitLocker on Windows)
- Using a strong password on your user account
8. Future sync services
We are evaluating an optional end-to-end encrypted sync service across multiple devices of the same user. If we launch it, it will be strictly opt-in, clearly communicated, and documented in this Policy before being enabled. Until then, Lexbell remains 100% local.
9. Children
Lexbell is intended for legal professionals. It is not designed for individuals under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from minors.
10. Your rights
Because all data lives on your device, you are in full control: you can access, modify, export or delete your data at any time from within the App, without asking us or waiting for a response.
11. Changes to this policy
Any material change to this policy will be reflected by updating the date at the top of the document and publishing the new version at this same URL. We recommend reviewing it periodically.
