What we get asked the most.
Quick answers about Lexbell, its privacy model and how it works on Mac and Windows.
Are my cases uploaded to the cloud?+
No. All your information lives on your own device and never leaves it. Lexbell has no servers of ours. The only connection is with the App Store to manage the subscription, and no personal data is sent through it.
Does it work offline?+
Yes. All case-management features work without internet. Only activating or restoring the subscription needs a connection, and the App Store handles that.
What do I need to use Lexbell?+
macOS 12 Monterey or later (Apple Silicon or Intel Macs) or 64-bit Windows 10 and 11. Around 150 MB of space.
Does it work the same on Mac and Windows?+
Yes. It's the same app with the same features on both systems; only the shortcuts change: ⌘ on Mac and Ctrl on Windows.
How do I back up my data?+
With automatic daily, weekly or monthly backups to the folder you choose. You can also export and import your entire database in JSON format anytime.
What if I stop using the app?+
Your data is always yours: you can export it to JSON at any time. If you uninstall the app, the local data is removed with it, so it's best to export first.
Which countries does it support?+
Yes. Lexbell adapts each case's fields to the country and works for several Spanish- and English-speaking countries. It includes specific support for the Dominican Republic and for the United States in immigration (DS-160, DS-260, A-Number, NVC Case) and company formation (LLC, C-Corp, S-Corp).
How do I get Lexbell?+
You can start free: up to 30 cases at no cost. For unlimited cases there is an annual subscription. Download it from the Mac App Store (Mac) or the Microsoft Store (Windows), which handle billing; we don't process payment data on our servers.
